Artist Statement:
The Fallout Series: Covid-19 is a new iteration of digital collage, initially inspired by imagery, colour story, narrative technique explored in my previous classes, and my favourite mobile game, "Zero City." The bunker in this work includes a chemical laboratory, dining hall, print shop, hospital and living room to protect all occupants from the risk of any virus outbreak, atomic bombs, war and zombies, etc. Figures in different rooms engage in various bunker activities. Depictions of United States President Donald Trump's face appears on several of the virus bodies. The combination of the virus body and Trump's face creates a hybrid: Trumponavirus. For me, this work is a way to express my critical view of Trump's terrible leadership in America that runs parallel to the coronavirus's threat. In my view, Trump's administration has yet to implement epidemic prevention as a priority for American's lives during the COVID-19 pandemic, however; he cares only about his presidential ballot and re-election as president in November 2020.
