Artist Statement:

Plastic is one of the most notable materials to mark the Anthropocene. Plastics show “godlike” quality by being the absolute material in many cases. They have become an “essential” part in our contemporary world and it almost seems like we’re being ruled by this material. Plastics are used to produce numerous things around us, due to their versatility, cost-effectiveness, durability, etc.; however, behind all the conveniences plastics brought to the world, it causes lots of problems. It’s been a long-established convention to put up statues for important figures, heroes and gods and here is a statue of a disposable plastic bottle, representing all the other plastic products.
