Artist Statement:
Rewinding back to life experiences before the pandemic, before COVID-19 and
quarantine, we realize how many meaningful daily experiences we took for granted. I did not savor those moments too much, because they seemed to be fairly “obvious,” as if they would always be there. And yet, they are currently gone.
Now we steer away from people as if they are carrying an explosive. When we go for a stroll outside the city it seems so difficult. The pleasure of walking out in the wild is considered a privilege. In this photo series I have captured a forest landscape, how our footsteps may leave a mark, stones and plants are pushed out of the way and leaving geological trauma and degradation of our natural environment.
