Artist Statement:

My artwork shows how plastic pollution harms the oceans, coral reefs, and kills marine animals. More and more plastic is found in the ocean per year, killing millions of aquatic animals that have ingested plastic thinking it was food. The research that I found in the process of making this poster was shocking and hard to take. Even watching a documentary about plastic pollution killed me. Humanity needs to stop using plastic; it is a killing machine. The real reason that I wanted to make this poster, with a focus on marine animals, is because I want this to be an issue that everyone is aware of. It is always important to keep the conversation going and continue to battle the issue of plastic popularity.
