Artist Bio and Statement

I am Hana, an artist and art educator whose praxis entails cross disciplinary tendencies. Through aesthetics of the sublime, I capture subjective universality: something everyone experiences according to their own lived vicissitudes. My topics surround the idea of emotion: processing and evoking it. I believe in facilitation approaches that cater to particular individuals rather than ones that blanket over groups of people. My goal is to provide services that tie education, art and therapy together. Because I would like to provide sustainable and proactive measures to help communities to emerge and cultures to build, the creative field is integral to my education and learning. The Health and Wellness collaboration allowed me to explore partnerships and resources that students have access to and to suggest how we can increase support. This project further informed my personal praxis because I gleaned positive processes, community engagement and increased partnerships.
