The Learning Zone is not only a space for students to meet, work or relax, it is also an excellent space for students to exhibit their artwork.
This summer the OCADU Zine Collective created an exhibit of zines and Risograph posters to promote the work of its members.
Featuring work by Jon Vanneste (pictured above), Kai Lumbang (below, left), Jenn Woodall (below, right), Clara Lynas, Tetyana Herych and Bree Rappaport, the exhibit is installed to allow the audience to interact with the work and read the zines right on the wall.
July is International Zine Month, so the summer exhibit not only celebrates the work of OCADU students but also zine community in general. The zine collective exhibit will be on display until the end of the summer semester.

Step into the Learning Zone this spring to visit our OCAD Zine Library for gardening tips or the OCAD Seed Library for some seeds to grow your next vegetable or herb garden.
Our zine collection carries a number of zines with information to help you get your garden started from digging, planting, and watering along with basic seed saving instructions.
The OCAD Seed Library is one of the many branches of the Toronto Seed Library. The seed library is a “self-perpetuating seed library system” sustained by a community of gardeners committed to the practice of seed saving and donating back to the seed library. Just a few simple steps to get your garden growing – borrow some seeds, then harvest and return seeds to the seed library at the end of the growing season.
Lacking outdoor gardening space but you really want an herb garden? A Windowfarm is a great alternative to outdoor gardening. Drop by the Learning Zone to ask questions about making your own Windowfarm at home. You can also take a peek at the latest updates happening to grOCAD’s on-going project.
grOCAD, a student led initiative bringing green space to OCAD University has been busy enhancing the Windowfarm in the Learning Zone. Building upon past success of the Windowfarm, the focus is growing towards plants that are optimized for air purification.
