While we prefer to receive requests 4 weeks before the start of classes, we do our best to ensure that instructors have the resources they need to start the term. If you're running late, let us know and we can work to find a solution.
Due to time limitations, we prioritize processing required readings.
Items must comply with copyright and our licensing agreements in order to be posted to Canvas. Typically, this means no more than 20% of a print work can be used. If the request is over 20% we may seek out an eBook or suggest placing the text on print reserve.
OCAD U offers an electronic course reserves service (E-Reserves) that provides students with 24-hour access to copyright compliant course readings through Canvas at no cost. E-Reserves can list print reserve items at the library for the courses so students can locate and access course readings in one place.
Instructors can request course materials online through Canvas:
Through your course page on Canvas, activate the "Course Reserves" menu tab.
Choose "Add reserve items" to enter citation information for each reading or to duplicate previously assigned readings.
We will process your requests and email you with any questions that arise.
Processing can take up to 4 weeks. You can select "Suscribe now" to get alerts about your requests.
