Library Policy Changes

New Holds Service

You can now request library materials by placing holds on library items. This means if you are not physically on campus but want the library to hold a book for you, you can request a hold online through the library catalogue. The book will be available for pick-up at the library circulation desk for 6 days after you place the hold. A non-pick up penalty of $3 will apply to books not picked up after the week expires. You may cancel a hold online or in-person anytime during the week it is being held.

Processing Charges for Lost Books

In the Fall of 2017, Library Council undertook a review of library policies pertaining to fees and fines. In order to recover the resources used for replacing lost titles, the processing charge for lost books will be $50 as of January 2018. In addition to the $50 processing charge (per title), patrons are also responsible for paying for the cost of the lost book(s). This policy change is consistent with library policies across Ontario Universities.
