Title: A Tattered Mundane

Medium: Jute, hemp, and twine woven into linen

Year: 2024

Artist Statement:

“A Tattered Mundane” is a woven fabric with a linen warp and mixed material wefts, the highlights being hemp rope and jute. “A Tattered Mundane” is meant to be a chaotic, disruptive piece to a traditionally quiet space — a messy installation for a neat and tidy environment. It aims to challenge what is beautiful, what makes chaos visually appealing and distinct in its own unique sense. Pushing this narrative, “A Tattered Mundane” stands as work to remind you to stay true to your authentic self, just as perfectly imperfect as everyone is.
