Course Reserves: Organizing Reserves

Guide to using Library E-Reserves and Print Reserves Services

"Tagging" Reserve Items

Near the bottom of the Add a Reserve Item page there is a box for “tagging” your reserves. This allows you to categorize your items by week, assignment, topic or any other way that will help students to locate readings.

Readings can have multiple tags. To add more than one tag to an item, put a comma between terms. Make sure to be consistent with the tags you choose (i.e. if you type "week 1" and "week one" you will end up with two different tags for one category). However, the system is forgiving of variances in capitalization.

Once tags have been added they will appear at the top of the reserves page and students can click each week or assignment name to access the corresponding readings.
