Course Reserves: Reserve Items Page

Guide to using Library E-Reserves and Print Reserves Services

Accessing Course Reserves

Finding Reserves

Click the "Course Reserves" tab in the left-hand toolbar in one of your Canvas courses.

This will bring you to a page listing all of the readings and materials that have been put on reserve for your course.

Instructors can add various types of documents to the Course Reserves tab in Canvas. Different file types will be identified by the images below:

If a title is an e-reserve, clicking on the title of a reading will bring you to the reading itself. If it is a print reserve on hold in the library, clicking the title will bring you to a record explaining where you can access the reading.

At the top of the Course Reserves page you may find a list of keywords that looks like this:

By clicking any of these keywords, you will access a new page that collects the readings for that week,  assignment or topic all together.

Accessing Print Reserves

Print Reserves

If an item on reserve is a physical book, the record in Canvas will have the "hard copy" symbol next to it.

When you click the item title, you will be brought to a record that describes how you can access the item.

Take the item's call number to the circulation desk in the library and the staff can lend you the item for two hours at a time.
