Ask A Librarian at OCAD U

OCAD University Library is excited at participating in the Ask a Librarian service again in the Winter 2021 term.

 

We thought that this would be an ideal opportunity to ask one of our dedicated librarians who staffs the service on a weekly basis: 

What is your favourite thing is about working on the Ask a Librarian service?

I was just thinking about getting a question from one of our students last semester, and I think what I really like about Ask a Librarian is getting first-hand insight into the research projects of OCAD U students along with real time feedback on how our available library resources are doing in supporting those projects. More fundamentally I think that Ask a Librarian is there for students, twelve hours a day, no questions asked, for instant research assistance is a great resource for students during the closure due to COVID.

 

 
 

Asynchronous Instruction

Liaison librarians are ready to format online search pages or videos to help support your online courses. 

With three weeks preparation, we can specially tailor presentations to support:

Synchronous Instruction

Using Teams meetings, librarians can offer real-time instruction for your classes. Presentations can be tailored specifically to address

  • broader course learning outcomes

  • research strategies for specific assignments 

  • themes in information literacy such as "what is research?" or "how do I research?"

Examples of presentations that can be offered include:
