To foster a sense of community in the remote learning environment, the OCAD University Library is pleased to announce a roster of Book Club events each month over the Winter 2021 term.
Each session will be uniquely formatted according to the research interests of featured presenters. The topics for each will focus on issues directly related to the OCAD U Academic Plan, exploring issues of anti-Black racism, Indigenous knowledge systems, LGBTQ2S issues, social justice, and decolonization.
Black Lives Matter Reading Group:
OCAD U faculty member, Dr. Camille Isaacs will host a discussion forum based on Desmond Cole's ground-breaking article from Toronto Life that inspired his 2020 book, The Skin We're In: A Year of Black Resistance and Power (Penguin Random House, 2020).Attendees are asked to view beforehand:Cole, Desmond.
